Our Hospital Visit in August

Norah was diagnosed with a duplicated collecting system in her right kidney.  It's a somewhat common occurrence where there are two ureters draining the kidney, rather than one.  In Norah's case, an ultrasound and other procedures right after she was born showed that she had a normal ureter draining to her bladder and a second ureter coming from the top of her right kidney.  Since this extra ureter is filled with fluid and cannot drain normally, it's a potential infection site.  An infection of this site is exactly what caused us to spend a week in the hospital in August.  She had surgery to correct this on September 13, and should have no further problems.
